The Internet has become integral to our daily lives and can be fantastic for teens and children. They learn on the go, talk online with friends, or play online games. Nowadays, the lives of teens are mostly online. Although the Internet provides some great benefits, it also can be dangerous, especially for the vulnerable teenage demographic.
To ensure you have a safe experience with TeenHang, we log and moderate most user activity, and work with law enforcement agencies.
Safety Tips for Teens
-
Do not arrange to meet people you have met online. Remember, people you talk to may not be who or what they say they are - people can easily create fake profiles, so be aware and do not keep your concerns to yourself.
-
Do not share/post photos, comments or content that you would not feel happy to share with friends and family.
-
Do not provide your personal contact details and information to complete strangers.
-
Create strong and unique passwords - at least ten characters, with numbers, upper and lowercase letters and symbols, otherwise they are too easy to crack by cybercriminals.
-
Be cautious with social media profiles and posts - you should take care when sharing personal information online, as oversharing can lead to privacy breaches and potential risks from strangers.
-
If anyone upsets you or asks you questions you don't like, block them immediately via their profile.
-
If you're accessing TeenHang from a public device, make sure you log out when you're done.
-
Beware of scams - if someone is asking you to buy something on their behalf or ask you for money, this is most likely a scam or a method to take your money.
-
Report strange users and activity, particularly if you are under 19 and asked a personal question by someone over 19. Report concerns.
